It would appear Soup has been doing something I'm NOT particularly happy about. When I first started, my images could only be 500 pixels wide, or they'd just not show. That number appears to have shrunken: pictures now break unless they're 400 pixels wide.
That's BAD. I should be able to upload the full-size things and just have them resized. Instead I have to pretty much jump through hoops to get an image on the blog. And if this keeps up, how long before pictures can only be 300, or 200?
This may not seem like a problem for vertical stuff, but it's disastrous for horizontal stuff. All the detail packed into the horizontal frame is now smaller. That makes things harder to pick out.

This pic will never not be one of my favorites. It's probably one of the best examples on my computer of innocent nudity that still shows the rear. Remember how I said those can be shown whenever? Well here's a case where it's not used for humor or sexual purposes, but simply as a consequence of nudity. You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Adam and Eve turned out to be kids the entire time.

I just got a few new pictures I'd like to try out, but before we do one of 'em, I gotta talk about a specific show, and the reasons why once again a cowardly animator said No Girls Allowed!
Cartoon Network was goin' through some real troubles in 2004. They just changed their look to a brand new "city" look, and had to deal with a lot of new original shows. One of them was a show so outdated, it was outdated when it first premiered: Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.
In this show meant to capitalize on the sudden popularity of the singers who did the Teen Titans theme, as well as cash in on the Japanese Invasion they helped start, Cartoon Network made a show about fictionalized versions of two famous pop singers, Puffy AmiYumi, the duo being Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura. And I'd suspect the guys behind the show thought their cartoon counterparts that bore little resemblance to their real-life selves were sexy, since they kept shoving them into a bunch of sexy costumes and having them hug and share long, loving looks at each other. These guys were so perverted, the real Ami and Yumi famously asked "Why are you making us gay?", which they responded to with a storyboard of the cartoon versions making out. Okay, so remember how I said there's nothing cuter than giving a kid a bath? Well, some kids don't exactly wanna take 'em. Just as good a source for humor is some naughty kid who's not gonna take his bath sitting down, and'll probably need to be dragged kicking and screaming. Look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way, Kero, but one way or another you're going to get clean!

Remember how I said Dexter tended to get naked and show his butt to the audience? Well, that whole joke was the punchline behind the episode "Better Off Wet." In it, Dexter's family kept trying to get him into the pool (yes, there were some sexy Mom shots, the perverts), but he didn't want to for some reason. He finally got in the pool at the end, but as he lamented he didn't know why he was so shy, his swimsuit came off underwater and we were treated to a full shot of Dexter' butt.
The name of the game is role reversal, so here we are with a new victim! Happy President's Day, everyone!
An instant source of cuteness is a shared bathing moment between a parent and child. For some reason, there's just something that instinctively calls to us when we see parents or older siblings giving children baths, like it plays into our desire to caretake and look after children. There's also a degree of closeness to it, like there's nothing to be ashamed about. Still not as close as Japanese parents tend to be, though.

And so, with the week coming to close, I'd like to end us out with some nice final thoughts to wrap us up.
Soup first went down on a Thursday of last month. I was hoping the downtime would be short so I could get back to what I was doing. Instead, this "downtime" was more of a server crash that lasted about a month, and I was forced to restart the blog since the backup came from two years before I joined. Combine this with Tumblr kicking me out in November last year, and this is the THIRD time I've started this blog. It's really annoying having to type all these posts again, as well as find the exact pictures I used in the previous outings.
That's okay, we've got a lot of material. Ever since I hired Krizeii to do edits, I now have access to a lot more professional-looking tools for this blog. In fact, now that I've built up a stockpile of edits from him, I now have enough material for four whole weeks of operation with a fifth one pending, and maybe a sixth if I'm feeling creative. Sundays are fun! That's because on Sunday, we take a situation you might find a female character to get a sexy nude scene... and put a male character in it while keeping it exactly as sexual! These are the only things I regard as NSFW, for the record, don't want the kids getting into sex.

Another thing we do on Saturday is do one of the previous shows and focus on adult women. We call this one Mature Musings.
Like I keep saying, nudity doesn't have to be always sexual. In fact, it doesn't need to have too much meaning attached to it. There's something I call Clinical Nudity, where the nudity is used to service the plot and is not called attention to. It's just... there.
This example comes from the Disney show Gargoyles, specifically the episode "Eye of the Beholder." The character Fox transforms into a werewolf, and in the process the monster has no clothing on. So naturally, upon turning back to normal, the human Fox doesn't have any either, and is shown nude for a few seconds before she's given something to preserve her modesty.
The fact that it only goes on for a short while, coupled with the fact that the situation is portrayed simply as a natural consequence of certain evens is what makes this good. On Saturday, our focus shifts a little bit. Instead of focusing on children, we focus on adult women, showing examples of humorous or artful nudity involving them.
Want a great way to add humor to female nudity? Add a naked guy! There's just something about both men and women sharing an embarrassing naked situation that works so well for humor's sake. It also does a lot for equality since both are being exposed the same way. These guys are an example of this. Homer and Marge can relate.

Every Friday I like to tackle questions and tough topics that're given to me. We often do this using essays or Q/A sessions where I answer Frequently Asked Questions, and this is one of them.
One question I often receive is, "ArcRoyale, if you're all for equality in nudity, why do you still feel the need to censor female nipples?" Well, the picture above showcases an example of why I censor, albeit with something more commonly censored that I feel shouldn't be.
When it comes to adults, a butt is often thought of as being acceptable for PG-13 level content regardless of gender. Men and women can show those just fine, and boys in all animated series and girls in a few shows from foreign countries can also show theirs without raising a stink.

This girl is so cute I can't help but share her. She's so giddy and cheerful that the picture is something amazing. Her wide open eyes and that big hearty smile make this picture nothing short of adorable. Though, I gotta ask... does she come with the cake, or is she extra?

In this case, Scootaloo here has an expression that suggests she doesn't understand what the problem is with her being nude, as if she doesn't get why everyone is giving her shocked looks. For Wednesday, our weekly show is to showcase examples of humorous female nudity that slipped through the cracks, stuff that went by in shows we used to watch, especially in our childhood. We call this one, Yes, It Can Be Done!
One of the most popular shows of the late 90's and early 2000's was The Powerpuff Girls. This show starred a trio of superpowered kindergarten-aged girls who fight crime and save the world before bedtime. It's easy to see why it's so popular; the show was a different kind of feminist show, a kind where boys could watch and not feel ashamed. It was about three distinct characters going on adventures together in a time when most girls shows are inoffensive and boring. The audience could relate to them, and loved to see them do things little girls couldn't do on TV, all while they were still identifiable as girls. After a month of downtime, you start to assume the website isn't coming back, so you don't check it. Fortunately, it's back, so I can still post.
One of those great expressions when it comes to humorous nudity is a sort of wide-eyed, small-mouthed, "deer in headlights" look that comes with surprise. Wendy here demonstrates that perfectly, with a look that suggests maybe she wasn't expecting the viewer to be there. You know, I could've sworn that this was the men's bath. In fact, I think it is; Japanese bathing laws are weird.

Well, it's a good thing I get to start this blog again! I get to showcase one of my new toys! For those who don't know, every Tuesday I showcase just how unequal the standards of male and female nudity are, even when they're both put in the exact same situation. We call this show No Girls Allowed!
Our first example comes from the Cartoon Network show Dexter's Laboratory. Dexter's Lab was the first original television show produced by Cartoon Network that relied on its own characters instead of Hanna Barbera stock footage. That show, debuting in 1996, was a launchpad for the careers of many animators. It's probably the most important show in Cartoon Network's history, and has left a massive impact through the staff that worked on it.
That show was also very brave about nudity. One common gag was that the main character Dexter would be disrobed for humor's sake, and we'd often see his butt. The most prominent example of this is in the episode "Dexter's Rival" where we see his overjoyed morning routine, which includes him showering. It's very important because this was one of the few times it was used in children's entertainment; while Bart Simpson showed his butt numerous times, that was a strictly adult show. Half of my examples come from anime, while the other half come from cartoons. This is an example of a cartoon picture. We alternate between the two every day.
This one is just so brilliantly amusing. Aside from Billy being an idiot and Irwin being caught in a bad situation, we have Mandy over there being embarrassed. The pose is just perfect on this one, showing her covering her chest with her arms, and a great facial expression that showcases that things have gone wrong, and that she's not used to when they do. Also there's Grim over there even though he's a skeleton. You know, if Grim's eyes are censored, Mandy's arms are presumably hiding her bottom and Irwin's a dog, I don't think those censor bars are really needed. Well, maybe Billy's for humor. Because I only just found out the website is running again, we're doing Monday's show on Tuesday morning. For those who weren't there last time, on Monday we take a scene of female nudity and switch things around to feature a female character instead. We call this... well, we don't call it anything.
Believe it or not, our first picture breaks all the rules we established earlier! That's because this picture is based on a time two adults lost their clothing; it's the Simpsons episode "Natural Born Kissers." The situation was that due to a mishap involving public sex and a golf course, Homer and Marge lost their clothes and had to run back home while completely naked.
